TIMESHARES - INVESTMENTS OR SCAMS?

Timeshare clubs and other simliar clubs which promise you a wonderful week or two in paradise every year are nothing but a myth. They sell you a dream which often turns into a night mare and you regret ever falling for the "Congratulations. You have won a holiday for two. But you must come to our office to collect it. Please bring your spouse along." phone pitch.

Did you know that the call comes from a call centre and not from the office itself?

Did you know that the operators are given specific scripts by the time share companies which they have to follow?

Did you ever wonder how your cellphone number ever got into thier hands to start with and how they know you full name?

Have you ever stopped to wonder how you would have won a prize when you did not participate in any lucky draws or competitions?

Did you know that the timeshare and the related industries are worth billions of dollars and you spend your hard earned money for a piece of paper which states you are a member and a plastic card which promises you heaven on earth.? Their total costs less than a dollar. Your loss - thousands.

The time share scam itself has spawned many other related industries. You have time share terminators who claim to have special inside knowledge about the time shares companies to which only they have access to. You pay for "legal fees". Have you ever wondered whether they are really lawyers? Why do they not arrange meetings in the law firms if they are genuinely interested helping you resolve your situation legally. Why are you paying them money instead of the law firm?

Then there is the convert your timeshare into real property or into other tangible assets, like wine, animals where your timeshare club value is absorbed as part of the payment and you pay thousands of dollars again. They promise you incredible returns which would stun even wizards of economics. Have you ever been shown the assets or the realistic projections of how they intend to make the money to return you, your investment plus the phenomenal profits? Did you know that there is a risk clause in all the contracts which means you take the risk and they guarantee you nothing, not even the money you paid to them, let alone the value of your time share membership?.

This blog is created for all of you victims to vent your grievances and exchange your views. I use the word victims because anyone who believes the promises of paradise and pays money out to these scammers is a victim. You end up paying thousands of dollars which you could have spent on your loved ones and continue to pay yearly subscription to feed the luxurious lifestyle of these wolves who prey on innocent people.

Remember in the valley of the blind, the man with one eye is king. We have been blinded by greed and the empty promises of these suave sales man in their three piece suits and posh offices. Let us now share our experiences and open our eyes to reality. Some of us are still blind and some of us are just getting the vision of the bare facts. Together we can stop this scammers and stop wasting our money. Rather we give it to charity then to fund scammers who will use our money to create more scams sipping champagne in their jacuzzis.

UNITED WE STAND !!!

GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS!!!

  1. Hi “Timeshare Avenger”. Thanks for your concern regards to the Timeshare turmoil and predicament that most of Singaporeans are in. From your comments, can I assume that you have been victimised by the unscrupulous, unethical companies? You sounded like one but I may be wrong so pardon me. I share your sentiment if I’m in your shoes and I do not blame you for feeling that way.
There are still plenty of other Timeshare owners like myself, that are happy and glad that they purchased these products. For your information, I own a Marriott Vacation Club International membership, a Timeshare product. As you know, every original label, there will always be imitations. Let me enlightened you. Have you ever heard about Marriott Vacation Club, Disney Vacation Club, Sheraton Vacation Ownership or even Berjaya Vacation Club? They are a timeshare company. You can visit their website at marriottvacationclub.com, dvc.disney.go.com/dvc/index., sheratonvacationownership.com and berjayavacation.com.my. Their members are extremely delighted with their services, no complains like myself. Oh no don’t get me wrong here, I’m not promoting them but just stating a fact. So can you say that these timeshare companies that I’ve just mentioned, is another bullshit companies as you would like to put it? That’s defamation my dear friend. I wouldn’t want to cross that line. Please do your homework.
But like you’ve said in your comments earlier about bullshit companies ripping off innocent people’s monies, I agree with you. There are unscrupulous, unethical companies who had jumped into the bandwagon to make some bucks as the Timeshare concept does work. But these errant companies, tried to imitate what the original, reputable Timeshare companies like, Marriott Vacation Club, Disney Vacation Club, Sheraton Vacation Ownership and Berjaya Vacation Club offer; just to name a few. So when victims fall prey to the errant Timeshare companies besides the companies that I’ve just mentioned earlier, be it in Singapore or elsewhere, then comes the third party companies offering assistance. Some of whom are genuine and of course some are not. To name you one of many genuine Timeshare resellers, Travel & Leisure Group where you can visit them at www.travelandleisure.co.uk. They are supported by the heavyweights associations in the Timeshare industry like Resorts Development Organisation (RDO) formerly known as Organisation for Timeshare in Europe (OTE), American Resort Development Association (ARDA), Resort Condominium International (RCI) and Interval International (II). And again I remind you that we are not promoting them but just stating a fact. Can you label them as a bullshit company? Can you simply ask them to shutdown and stop their con job? You’ll be lucky if they didn’t sue you for defamation.
But again my dear friend, like I’ve said earlier, I do not blame you for your sentiments as I share the same sentiments if I’m in your position. You are entitled to your own opinion of course. But if I were you, I’ll do a bit more of homework before I say such things that I’m not sure about as it may backfire and cause unnecessary legal issues which I think you are very well aware of. Cheers!
